Understanding local needs

To support the business community and enhance our students’ education, Maricopa must build on its existing relationships with local industry. Through these partnerships, we are better able to understand the needs of local employers so that we can ensure our curriculum is giving students the skills and knowledge they need to be competitive in the workforce. Plus, local businesses are an integral part of our students’ education, providing for hands-on workplace experience.

MCCCD Industry Sector Institutes

As we strive to support both our students and local businesses, Maricopa Community Colleges is developing Industry Sector Institutes. An institute will support an industry’s workforce development needs, including credit, non-credit, short-term training, customized employer training, and more. The institutes will span the District, sharing resources, equipment, staff, faculty, and curriculum across colleges.
