Guided Pathways

Research shows that college students are more likely to complete a degree in a timely fashion if they choose a program and develop an academic plan early on, have a clear roadmap of the courses they need to take to complete a credential, and receive guidance and support to help them stay on path.

As we strive to enhance the student experience, we have initiated a comprehensive redesign of the student experience that helps students identify and enter a clear, coherent educational pathway early on, learn what they need to be successful in their career and further education, and receive proactive support they need to stay on the path toward timely goal completion.

We’re making sure that Maricopa’s offerings are aligned with our students’ educational and career goals. The goal is to develop pathways that are as coherent, intentional, and as transparent as possible for Maricopa students. This will help limit confusion among students and help them reach their goals faster.

Staff and faculty will provide coordinated, strategic and personalized services and programs that will help guide students through their entire college experience from initial connection to the college through completion, transfer or career entry. To help accomplish this, we’ll add advising staff, establish consistent standards across all of our colleges, and provide comprehensive training for staff and faculty.
